17  us a quarter of beef. Everybody home to-night.

 

18  Lovely morning. Dad and Marion washed. Back pretty bad. Institute at Wesley’s. Canadian night by Misses Platts & Rodd. Came up a blizzard and we all had a rough time getting home. Keith at New Glasgow. No sleep to-night.

 

19  6A. Pretty blustery this AM. Finer to-night. Ernest has gone up to Darnley Clarks. Christopher LePage died this morning quite suddenly. Keith at home to-night.

 

20  Snowing most of day. Turned soft and rained for a little while. Cleared up cold at night. No group. Roads bad. Sadie & David Johnson & Gertrude Ackland in. Darnley very poorly.

 

21  2B. 6B. Bitter cold blowing a gale to-night. First skate at Cosy Corner Rink. In bed all day. Feel fierce to-night before we went to bed.

 

22  8B here this morning. Some of the plants froze. Very cold day. Christopher LePages funeral. Feeling pretty mean all day.

 

23  Milder. Stayed in bed all day. Much milder. Darnley keeping about the same. Gertrude not so well. Jerrys and Austin here in the evening also play practice. Pretty tired.

 

24  Feel better. Gertrude very miserable. Marion up there in afternoon. WCTU at night at Wesleys.

25  Pouring rain, just coming down in torrents. They are planning to take Gertrude in to the hospital this afternoon but could not manage it on account of roads. Bad sloughs in places. Blowing a terrific gale.

 

26  Still blowing very hard. Took Gertrude to Town this morning. Operated at three. Darnley pretty poorly. Dad there all night. He and Clarence working on the telephone line all day. Blowing hard and cold to-night.

 

27  Fine day, cold. Group at McLures. Carnival at New Glasgow. Anna over in afternoon.

 

28  Fine day. Wind bleak and cold. Austin here in evening trying to decide about teacher.

 

29  Cold and stormy all day. No church.

 

30  Still snowing a little. Marion has sore throat. Word from Town to-day, Gertrude is better. Practice at Fenners.

 

31  Lovely fine day. Marion in bed with sore throat.

 

Feb 1st  No school. Fine day. Hockey game at night. Rustico beat Cavendish 3 to 1. In bed most of day.

 

2  Victor King started teaching in Cavendish. Snowed a little, drifted bad at night. Young folks practice at Fenners. Jerry went to S Side for cylinder for pump. Gertrude doing fine.
