21  Fine in forenoon. Snowed all afternoon. Very calm and not cold. Skating at night and choir practicing at Bob’s. Felt miserable all day.

 

22  Snowed all night and all day. Blowing hard and much colder to-night. Montague Wyand here to-day helping thrash. Got a long letter from Maud. She writes that they are leaving Leaskdale the middle of February.

 

23  10B. Blew a gale all night and the foot of light snow that fell has piled up in all kinds of banks. Bitter cold this AM. My plants had another scorching. Not doing much. No mail.

 

24  Milder, lovely in morning. Lots of great big snow banks. Ernest, Waine, PJ and I went to Mother’s in afternoon. Roads bad. Started to snow and was storming very thick by 5 PM. No preaching. Mrs Fairbairn died in Lawrence.

 

25  Colder, blustery, Wind west. Mail came.

 

26  2A. S.W. lovely day. Ernest busy shoveling snow in AM. Keith went to Harold’s & Dad & I went to McCoubrey’s and to Alberts to tea. Silas Wyand & wife & Bob & Jennie & us there to tea. About 50 at rink tonight.

Montague’s birthday.

 

27  20A S.E. and snowing. Kept getting worse all day. Very thick storm by noon. Dad got the children home at dinner time. Cleared up about 4:PM.

Mail came to Fred’s.

 

28  Fine this morning not cold. Thermometer up to 30A degrees at

noon to-day. Snowed very thick in evening, cleared off and blowing a gale to-night. Marion went over to John F’s in afternoon. No mail.

 

29  6B. Regular old sneezer. Blowing a gale wind W. Drifting, no school. Marion pieced a quilt. Made shin pads for K. Bitter day all day. No school, no mail.

 

30  Fine, but very cold. Ernest & K. busy shoveling snow all day. A very big bank west of house. Marion sick with tonsillitis.

 

31  Fine Mr. Aitken preached in AM. Dad & I went to Bay View. Gertrude here in afternoon, came on her snowshoes. At home in evening.

 

Feb 1st 1926  12A Bleak cold wind from N.E. Ernest & K. thrashed in forenoon and K. went up to Mother’s to thrash in afternoon. Montague & Irene were out in the evening to see Marion. Mum feeling better. Mail came.

 

2  Snowing all day. N.E. storm, not doing much. P.J. home from school again with bad cold.

 

3  4B. Fine day. Washed. Albert and Ernest went to Egg Circle Meeting. Directors in afternoon at Frank Houston’s. Albert stayed here this evening.
