17  S.E. Fine in morning, started to rain after dinner. Raining hard to-night. Children went up to Bay View to-night. Mother has been miserable with the cold. Thunder to-night.

 

18  W by NW & N to-night and very cold. Wind has been cold all day. Ernest went to Hunter River for fertilizer. Jean & Mrs Irving here this evening.

 

19  SW. Much finer and warmer to-day. Ernest sowed pond field this afternoon. Had McCoubreys drill. Canned roosters. Walked over to Jerry’s in evening.

 

20  SW Fine but blowing a gale. Ernest sowed swamp field. K., Marion, & PJ went up for clams.

 

21  SW. Very warm and blowing hard. Ernest harrowing, Keith harrowing at Jerry’s. Clarence is sick with grippe. Down in pond fishing, got none. Thunder squall this evening.

 

22  NW. Colder this AM. Ernest finished sowing all but green field. K. and Jerry went down to McCoubreys this evening. Nellie doing nicely now.

 

23  N.W. and bitter cold wind with snow in AM. Cleared off fine in afternoon. Ernest sowed mangles. the Wyand girls here this evening.

 

24 Sunday. S.W. & N.W. and N.E. fine but cool. Pres church in morning, long day.

25  Wind still cool, E. & N.E. & S.E. to-night. Keith harrowing, below orchard. Cutting sets. Nita came home from Mothers has been there since Friday. 1 gosling hatched.

 

26  NE and a miserable day, cold and wet. Went to Creek in afternoon called at Albert’s. Set 2 hens on goose eggs. I have 78 chickens now and K. has 49.

 

27  Showery in morning, washed. Ernest & K spreading manure for potatoes and cutting sets. Nelson McCoubrey’s old cow got in bog down here at brook.

 

28  S.W. & N. and around by E & SE to-night. A beautiful day all day. Planted potatoes. Geo Clarke here. Marion went to Rustico with Anna. Busy all day. Lorraine’s birthday.

 

29  E & S wind and warm all day. Keith planting at Jerry’s. Ernest hauling conche[?]. Making a little dress for Waine. Tennis’ sent us some gaspereau.

 

30  S. Warm and Fine. Ernest finished sowing green field and was spreading manure this afternoon. Baking and busy. We went up for clams this evening.

 

31  Sunday. SE and a glorious raining day, just a gentle rain all day. Mother & Cecil down in evening.
