June 1925

June 1st  1925  Glorious rain all day. Myron & Elaine drove up from Montague. Keith got over 30 nice trout. In bed all day.

 

2  Fine. Sowed turnips, planted garden, beans, etc. Elaine, Eva & Myron called in evening. Marion & I went up for a little while. Sick headache all day.

 

3  Raining a little in forenoon and a glorious pour in afternoon. K. got 16 beauty trout. Albert up in afternoon. Reuel and Enid out. Keith paid Reuel 5.50 for boots socks & gartars. Set out 57 tomatoes & 99 cabbage, etc.

 

4  89 degrees. Very hot and blowing hard. Elaine & Myron down for the day. A rain squall and cooler to-night. Anita and Waine pretty sick.

 

5  N. Fine and cooler. K. at Jerry’s. Dad in Cemetery. Lorraine quite sick. Nan better.

 

6  N & E. Lovely morning but turned cold. Lorraine a little better. K. at Jerry’s. Clarence & Clair gone to P. County hospital. Anna over this evening.

 

7  Sunday. E. Lovely day but wind cold. Gordon & Lydia came out about 11 am. Keith feeling pretty mean to-night. Nellie McCoubrey came home from town to-day. Jerry & Anna over. Cold to-night like frost.

8  Fine day. S. Washed in am. K. sick with sore throat. Got Sport shod at Frank Murphy’s to-night.

 

9  Fine. Ernest spreading fertilizer. Marion and Nan went down to Alberts and to see Nellie. Hester down this evening. Mrs Dan Wedlock has been at Fenners for some time. Exciting times around there.

 

10  S. Warm. a glorious rain this AM, thunder. Sewing. Ernest & I to Rustico in evening. Called at Roy Toombs.

 

11  Thunder this morning but no rain here. Zion Church struck yesterday, not seriously damaged. Mrs. Bob & Hettie here today. Ernest took load of paling to J. Jerome[?]

 

12  Just one perfect day. Washed bedding and Ernest & I went to Hunter River. Had a great chat with Jamie and called at Nelson Orrs on our way home. Got home at 10PM.

 

13  Fine, blowing. Very busy. Marion & Nan went to McCoubrey’s to tea. Tired.

 

14  Sunday. Cloudless all day til evening. Blew a gale. Herb Toombs preaches at Rustico to-night.

 

15  Lovely day but very warm. Play in Rustico Church to-night. Dad working in cemetery. Went to shore with children. Thyra here all night.

 

16  Glorious rain all day. School meeting, Austin re-elected trustee. Telephone meeting to-night. Anna and I went up to Fred’s.
