7 Heber had some extra men to day and will be adding more right along. I cleaned the back porch and Pauline painted the dining room floor. Tired at night. PJ & Heber got a nice mess of trout.
8 74. Got the car out and cleaned up this evening. Pauline cleaned the spare room and S. East room and I got dinner and finished the childrens dahlia quilt. Dad putting a few seeds in garden plot.
9 60. Cloudy in morning. Planned to go to Town but started to rain hard and just pouring to-night and temp down to 40. Pretty glad we didn’t go away.
10 Not a very fine day. Mr Smith here to dinner and Pauline, Annie, Alfred & Mary Lorna & I went to Town. Poured rain on way home. May got out of hospital to-day and is at Mrs Beers. Tired at night.

11 Still raining but we went to Carleton before dinner. Heber came with us. I stayed down for the week and Anita came home to help Pauline paper. They got a whale of a lot of work done and I had a busy week. Keith got his seed turnips and mangles out. 15000 turnips. Rained and rained every second day and a thunder storm on the 13th. Killed a lot of goslings just ready to hatch. Ernest helped the girls paint and paper. Paulines room looks lovely and the pantry and bath room and west room. Just Annes room to day now. Anita had a letter

from Stuart Macdonald and Maud is very poorly.
19 I got home to-night. PJ and Nan came down in afternoon. Keith went to Bedeque with us to see the monument. Some bad places on the road. Poured rain again last night. Got 5 & 10 post cards to sell.
20 Cloudy this morning but cleared up fine and a cold wind all day. Some girls in taking subscriptions for National Magazine. Feels like frost to-night.
21 A very nice day. Washed some blankets I brought up from Keiths. Messers Smith & Long here in afternoon. Heber & Pauline went to Dalvey.
22 Fine day. Pauline cleaned the two rooms and I didn’t do much. Chester Woolner sick. We took Dad down to Mike Doyles and took Mrs Fred along with us. Called at Chesters and brought Mabel W. Stewart and baby home.
23 Fine and very warm this morning but cooler to-night. PJ & I went to Town and brought May home to-night. Nearly two months since she went away.
24 Rained hard in morning and a rather a mean day for the holiday. Not many tourists yet. Busy and tired.
25 Wretched cold and had rained all night. Went to church, the first time in six months or more. Cleared up in afternoon but rained again at night.
26 A lovely day. We had Annie Earl Simpson and did a big big washing and Annie papered the front porch.
