11 8A. Washed in morning. Fine day. Went to Lewis Toombs in evening and landed at an Institute meeting.
12 Very bleak cold wind all day. Ernest went to H. River for a load of coal. Terrible road, heavy and pitches. Finished ironing.
13 10A this morning and a very cold wind, all day. Heber has about finished his car. Knitting gloves for Dad. Very cold again to-night.
14 A fine day but quite frosty at night. Went in to Johnstons for the evening. Knitting. Sadie doing the turns.
15 Sadie did the Saturdays work. I made a Sultana cake in the afternoon and we took Sadie home after supper and went to Ben Woolners for the evening. President Roosevelt speech the biggest thing that has happened this year.
16 A nice day. Ernest went up for Mother and after dinner he went down to Alec’s to see how they are. Neither of them feeling very well.
17 St. Patricks and the best wash day we have had for some time. CGIT social at Lewis Toombs and Avonlea Institute at Allen Wyands.
18 Zero. Very cold all day and drifting. Party at Fred Clarkes at night. Heber and Sadie went. A big crowd there. George beat up Sadie.
19 0. Another very cold day and zero again to-night. Knitting etc. & Pauline came to Keiths last night and will likely be home to-morrow. Heber went down to Alfreds to-day.
19 He is making a cupboard for Annie for her pantry.
20 Fine day. Ernest went to Carleton for Pauline.
21 Blowing snowing and drifting. Ernest and Pauline got home a little after 5 PM. Had a heavy road and dirty drive. Pretty good to have Pauline home again.
22 Talked a good deal. Still snowing and blowing. Ernest took Sadie home in afternoon. I stayed up until 12 PM listening to a hockey game. Maple Leafs 5 B. Bruins 3
23 S. Fine all day but cold NW wind. Ernest took Mother home after dinner. Charlie came down from Church. Sing-song at Lewis Toombs to-night.
24 Fine day but the best wash day for a long time. We three went to Lornes in evening. Heard Wendle Wilkie speak from Toronto.
25 Milder to-day and got up to 40A to-day. Ironing almost done. Letter from Lorraine. Ernest out on the Canadian War Services campaign. Didn’t get along very well.
26 Fine and southerly wind. Thawing all day but freezing to-night. Sewing all day. Heber up this evening.
27 Fine and thawing a little. Temp up to 40 and went down again to freezing at night. Heber up in evening.
28 A perfectly lovely day. Ernest shoveling snow. David Johnston here this evening.
29 Stormed all day, snow sleet and snow. Wires
