27 got Sadie Hiscott for a month. David and Grace Crosby here for evening and part of night.
28 Finer but 4 Below but went up to 12A this evening. Heber took Anita to Hunter River. He was going out to Town. Washed but clothes didn’t dry.
29 Snowed almost all day. Temp 30 A to-night and the train isn’t expected to get to Town before midnight. Roads bad again. Snow half way up the sitting room window.
30 Snowing in morning but fine in afternoon. Dad went over to Erns on snow shoes. Roads very bad. No mail.
31 Bobbie got around at 3:30 and Heber got home around 7 PM. Roads very bad. Temp up to 30 but down again to 20A. Got half case of oranges. Man murdered in Ch Ttown last night. Peter Trainer.
Feb 1st A nice day, as white as it could possibly be. Ernest & I had tea with Ellice and Edward. Letters from Lorraine, Marion & PJ.
2 A lovely day. The rest of them went to church. Sadie away this afternoon. Quiet and restful.
3 Cloudy most of day and cold wind. Didn’t wash cleared up in evening.
4 Still cloudy and to-night its blowing a gale and colder. Washed and got clothes partly dried. Canned a quarter of beef that we got from Milton. No news.
5 Still blowing and drifting. Dad went to Freds no mail for milk, took him an hour to get there. No mail.
Wilbur MacFarlane of S. Side died, age 24 years.
Feb 6 Lovely day temp 14A in AM, cold wind but no drift. Sewing and not doing much extra. Started fixing Hebers sweater. Frosty to-night but calm.
7 A nice day, sunny and not cold. We went down to Alec’s in afternoon and Ernest went to Creek. May seems terribly blue.
8 Pouring rain this morning but cleared up in afternoon. Temp got up to 42A for a short time to-day. Ernest drove, Sadie home this afternoon. Letters from Anita and Lorraine. David out this evening.

9 40 above and blowing hard and turned colder at night. Charlie here to supper.
10 4 Below and cold but fine. Ernest has a bad cold. Sadie got back to-night. Made a big batch of marmalade and finished my navy dress. Temp 10A to-night.
11 Did a big washing. Heber went to town. Fighting off a cold. Got clothes dried for first time in weeks. Got a letter from Pauline with important announcement.
12 A very fine day and we finished ironing and did some baking. Valentine social at Jerrys at night. Went to bed, sick.
13 In bed all day. Ernest had Earl Simpson at ice. Feeling pretty rotten with cold.
14 Got up in afternoon. Finished ice. No news.
15 Feeling some better. Cloudy day and almost rain.
