10  Grace Crosby here for week and Dad went to Rustico and I think Mrs Lowther has gone to Carleton.

 

11  In bed all day. Not so good. Chill North East wind. Not much frost. Dad took Mother home in forenoon. Got bag of flour.

 

12  Snowing most of last night and all day. Charlie came up from Lornes this afternoon and had supper with us. Wrote to Uncle Firth. Herb Wyand here in evening. Evidently he is rushing the school [?].

 

13  Stormy day all day and getting colder and blowing a gale. Bobbie came but whether he would get back to Hunter River or not we don’t know. Sore finger.

 

14  4B here this morning and 6B in Ch. Town. Blowing a gale to-night and bitter cold. Some parts in States report 116 mile gale. Boat 9 hours late. No mail.

 

15  9 Below and still blowing a gale all day. Ernest and Heber working all day at the frozen pipes. Thank goodness they didn’t burst. Got the place packed with sawdust. Edward here for supper. No mail.

 

16  2B this morning and 10A to-night. Has been a fine day washed and busy all day long. Ernest shoveling snow.

 

17  Not so cold this morning and up to 24A to-night and a snow storm. N. East. Got ironing done. Pauline getting her clothes ready for her trip.

 

18  28A and calm. Snowing a little nearly all day. Ernest in to Mayfield in afternoon. Mrs Johnston & Mary Muttart and David here in evening. CGIT at Jerrys. Anita came to Keiths.

19  Snowing most of to-day, about 6 inches new snow down. Temp went up to 30A but 28 tonight. Pauline & Heber invited to Ern McNeills to tea. Alf Moore sick.

 

20  28A Still snowing and blowing from North. Not very cold. Ernest took Pauline to Hunter River and Edward took Mary McNeill. Anita came from Carleton to Hunter River. What a day. Colder at night but stopped snowing. Roads terrible.

 

21  Not feeling very good. Ernest and Anita got home around 4 PM. Pauline and Mary left for Ottawa. Stopping in Montreal for a couple of days. The paper to-day reports 90 inches of snow fall this season. Mabel Simpson McKinnon has a son.

 

22  A nice day and we washed and talked all day. Charlie here this evening.

 

23  Snowed to-day and milder but cold again this evening.

 

24  Finished ironing. Not much doing. Roads bad.

 

25  Quite frosty but not blowing very hard. Dad & Nan went driving in afternoon and had supper at Alec’s. Ern & Winnie and John here in evening about 10A.

14A and a bleak east wind all day. Blowing. Anita over at Mrs Lowthers. Not feeling very good.

 

26  Decided to stay in bed to-day. Still blowing and cold. Charlie came for Nan, took her to church.

 

27  4B Bitter cold. 7B in Town, the coldest this winter so they say. Anita didn’t go to Carleton as planned. Dad
