25  Stirling Stewarts have a baby girl and Mrs James R took a stroke a half hour before the baby arrived and died on the 28th. They took her home on Friday but she never regained consciousness after the stroke. The harvest

Oct 10th  is in now and people are working at potatoes. Mr Smith up to-day

 

11  Lovely weather all this week. Pauline went to Town in afternoon and got wedding presents in Community plate for Annie Lowther.

 

12  A lovely day. Pauline busy and I helped a little. We brought Mr Macdonald from Hunter River at night. He’s quite a wreck, poor old man. Back still pretty sore.

 

13  S. Quite a number around to-day, eight Golfers. Pauline took Mr Macdonald up to see Dr. Fleming to-night. He’s a fine bundle of nerves. Pauline went to church at night. A Mr Macdonald of Petitcodiac preached. Charlie here for supper.

 

14  A perfect day but wind cold. Reuels & Spencers out playing Golf. Mr Macdonald better to-night. CGIT at Miltons. Pauline washed and ironed.

 

15  Getting ready for Annie Lowthers shower. Cora and Mary and Una here helping. About 60[?] more here at night. Keiths got up and Ina and Louise carried in the baskets. Back not very good. Took Mr Macdonald down to Alecs. Rain at night.

 

16  The day after. Pauline & Ernest took Mr Macdonald to town

16  to see a Dr. Ina here for the day. Nice day.

17  24A. Dr. Keeping here for dinner. Quite a frost in AM. Pauline at Mrs Lowthers in afternoon and we went to Park Corner to Jim Campbell for the evening.

 

18  Rained quite a lot to-day and bitter cold and blowing. Mr Macdonald went down to Lornes & Ern McNeills. Not feeling very good all day. Maynard came in evening just for one night as there isn’t a Sunday boat.

 

19  A much nicer day and the big wedding came off without a hitch. Maynard took me over for a few minutes in morning and I didn’t go to wedding. Everyone tired at night.

20  S. A nice day but cold. PJ brought Mother down. Not feeling very spry. Charlie in for a while. Alec & May up.

 

21  A lovely morning and Pauline took Mr Macdonald to Hunter River and did a big washing. Got clothes dry just as it started to snow. The ground white at night and blew a terrific gale all night. Not much sleep as the shutters rattled so.

 

22  Still blowing but not much frost. Ernest taking off screens and shutters. Pauline has tooth ache. Mother seems quite happy

 

23  Not so cold to-day and the snow melting. Paper reports 5 inches of snow on Island and the snow plow was sent out from Town to clear the highway of drifts.
