21  Still cold but better to-night. Poor hay weather and a light crop. Ina here to-day. Sent wire to McClelland and Stewart for forty more books. Sent letters to Marion & Aunt Jennie. Mrs Timmins, Harper, Adele & Miss Piers here this evening also Lorne and Mary.

 

22  Fine and warmer a very busy day and not maybe. The girls went to Town early in the morning. We went down to Carleton for Margaret & kiddies. Miss Piers sleeping here at night.

23  The busiest day yet. The Girl Guides here in afternoon. Over 200 registered. Everyone very tired to-night. Girls gave around 40 lunches.

 

24  Quite warm all day. Everyone tired, Mr Smith here for dinner and sixteen others had eats here. I went to the funeral with Mr Tillie, at night we took Margaret and kiddies home.

 

25  Quite warm. Gave 27 lunches. Everyone busy.

 

26  90. Lorraine & I went to Town and got supplies. Very hot. Annie Earl here.

 

27  Not quite so hot to-day. Everyone busy. Mrs Hayden over for a few minutes. Girls had 21 for lunch. Tired, oh dear.

 

28  Lovely day. Went deep sea fishing with Mr Carse. Got about 200 in the boat. Elaine

and Mrs AJ Robinson etc over this evening.

 

29  Not so busy. A warm day. Went to town at night and saw Goodbye Mr Chips.

 

30  Fine all day. Girls had 26 for lunch to-day. Everyone tired. Mother went over to Myrons.

 

31  Very hot all day and very busy. Fed 17. Ice cream festival at night and ball game. Money for Red Cross.

 

Aug 1  Quite warm but air clearer. Had a busy day. 22 Golfers and 26 for meals. Annie Earl here washing etc. Quite a squall at night and turned much colder.

 

2  Lovely day but quite cool. Had 31 for lunch and had to step lively. PJ & I went to town in AM. Girls.

 

3  Fine and warm. 21 playing golf. Quite busy and tired.

 

4  Took the Carses to Hunter River and had no one to meals. Very warm and sticky and rained in afternoon. Mr Smith up. In to see May for a few minutes.

 

5  Rained nearly all day and was badly needed. Not so many around but had 11 for meals. Very warm and muggy.

 

6  Very lovely after the rain and we had hundreds here. Very busy day and everyone weary.

 

7  Quite warm again. Girls busy, and nothing new. The Logans here in evening also the Youngs.
