8 Fine and colder. Girls busy in forenoon. Six extra for dinner. Reggie McNeill came for Aunt Sadie. YPS at Rustico Church. Girls heard that Mrs Wallace Toombs had been killed in car acccident. She was very badly hurt instead of killed. Hip broken.
Heavy frost
9 Pretty nice day. Men here for dinner. Dad, Anita & PJ went to Charlottetown in afternoon. Fencing started at the back of farm.
10 Lovely day. No church in Cavendish. Ernest and I had a grand walk to very back of farm. Anita & PJ went with Eric Bell to Keith’s and to Church in S. Side. Mrs Hammond McKenzie and Charlie here until midnight.
11 Washed. Rained and blowing gale. Mrs Paterson & Douglas blew in about 2 o’clock. The worst storm in years.
12 Mr Paterson came to Georges and Nan took Mrs P over. Got the clothes out in afternoon and it poured rain at night. We went into town for the evening, saw a Show “I Met Him in Paris.” CGIT at Church.
13 A nice day all day. Inspector at school. Four park men for dinner. In the evening we went to Rustico. Called on the new baby at Freds.
14 Nice day. Five men for dinner. Went to S. Side in afternoon. Fencing going on full swing. John Myers up to-night.
15 Just one miserable day all day. Snow and rain and altogether dirty. YPS at Chester Woolners. Gordon and Elmer took Lorraine & Anita. PJ went with Mr Tillie.
Oct 16 Fine to-day but still cold. Got a big dinner ready and not a man came to help eat it. No news.
17 Went to Carleton in afternoon and to Bedeque Baptist Church at night. I stayed down. Wild duck for dinner at 5:30 PM.
18 Started the new Bath house at the shore. The fencing going on. Keith grading potatoes all the week. Poured rain most of Sunday the 24th and Dad
26 Pauline, Anita & May Alec came down for me. Keith and Margaret went to S. side and I came home with them. CGIT meeting here to-night. Keith had been to Dr Simpson and is getting ready to go to Halifax Friday.
27 Lovely day again. Four park men here for dinner. Girls went to town after dinner. Wesley Smiths sale in afternoon. Keith in for a little while. Went down to Roy Lairds for chickens.
28 Nice day but pouring rain to-night. Just had Mr Ross here for dinner. Ellice over in afternoon. Ham sold his cows and we went to South Rustico for him. Adult Education meeting at Jerry Simpsons.
29 Just a perfect day after the terrible rain of last night. Anita and Mrs Tillie left for Halifax this morning. Girls getting ready for a Halloween social here tomorrow night. No YPS at Rustico and no company for weekend as was planned. Ham here this evening.
30 Lovely morning but raining by noon. Three men here for dinner. Halloween party here at night. Blowing and colder.
