Sir Robert Borden died to-day

 

10  Trinity Church YPS put on three one act plays in evening. Fed them here afterward. Rained hard in afternoon and road very bad.

 

11  Lovely day. Girls papering big dining room. YPS at Manse to-night I stayed with Mrs Carruthers. Mrs Bonnell started for Toronto to-day. Going from there to Washington and to Los Angeles.

 

12  We have had two whole days without rain. Quite remarkable. Girls went to town again and the car is quite OK now. Keith Margaret and kiddies arrived with Mr & Mrs Gardiner.

 

13  Just a lovely day. We went up for Mother and to see the twins at Ced’s. Church at night United. Harry Linkletter & family and Aunt Alice here this evening.

 

14  Fine all day but raining to-night. Girls papering. Lorraine visited to the manse to tea. Got a lot of plants set out in garden. 3 big truck loads of posts came this afternoon for Park fence. Everyone tired.

 

15  Lovely day all day. Washed and girls papered some. Ernest at Oliver Bernards signing for the Posts. 2 loads came here. Went to Kensington in evening for the final playoff between Freetown and Cavendish and carried home the shield for Cavendish. Lorraine did it wonderfully well.

 

16  Feeling quite puffed up this morning.  Girls papered in afternoon. I went to Bob McKenzies to Missionary meeting and to Wesleys in evening to Institute. Very tired at night.

 

17  Blowing a gale. Keith and Fenton Howatt up for a load of machinery. Had quite a fight with the fire over in the stumps

17  along the Mayfield road. Girls finished papering the room and got front room floor shallaced. Ina came up with Keith and is just going to sleep. She’s a dear kiddie.

 

18  Cloudy morning and rained. Keith came for another load of machinery. Is pretty well set now. Rained hard all night, no group. Girls working at room floor. Dad put separator away and put oilcloth down in back porch. Pretty snug now. Cold.

 

19  Cloudy and cold. Papered the north west bedroom. Its pretty snug now, fixed it up for Aunt Sadie or myself. Girls finished front rooms and are tired to-night. Directors meeting of Hall Company.

 

20  S. A perfectly lovely day all day and glorious moonlight night. Baptist church in AM. Went to shore in afternoon and the girls went to New Glasgow at night to put on “The Colour line” play.

 

21  Busy day in garden, went to Carleton in evening and stayed until Saturday. Institute Convention in Town and Margaret went. Rained all the week. A Commission has been appointed to value the land in Park Area and were here this last week to meals. Girls met me at Hunter River and we went to town. Got home about 5:30. Lorraine is going to Toronto with Mrs Leith Wright on Thursday. WCTU meeting at Church. Gave Mrs Paterson a book.

 

27  Mr Paterson preached his farewell and slipped out the back door without so much as a handshake. Just good for them, the congregation I mean. Stewart Wright and family at
