War threatening between Italy & Ethiopia
20 Raining part of day. Pauline went to Malpeque with Mr Paterson to a Young Peoples Convention. Bean supper in the Hall for the YPS. Also our 30th wedding anniversary. Tired?
21 Finer to-day. Nelson McCoubrey died at 2 AM in the Sanatorium in Ch Town. Ernest helping at grave. Had Mr & Mrs Bonnell & Mr & Mrs Fred Toombs for the evening. Tired? Oh no

22 S. Very nice day. Dad & I walked to shore in AM and went to funeral in afternoon. Big crowd there. The Casely family here for supper. Went in to Wyands to-night. Allen got home from Toronto last night. Arthur up.
23 Blowing a gale and showery. Lorraine & Wanda walked to shore. Ernest & I went to Lewis Toombs in evening. Bright northern lights and very cold for September.
24 Finer to day and cool. Girls went to Town. PJ with Bonnells & Lorraine & Wanda with Mrs Paterson. Dad picked beans.
25 Lovely day and warmer. Cloudy to-night and raining. Pauline got home from Town. Mr & Mrs Huber of Pennsylvania here for the night.
26 Warm day, blowing a gale. Supposed to be practice here at night, only two came. Dad picking cranberries. Poor crop.

27 Still warm. Finished picking beans. WCTU organized in Cavendish. Mrs Miller spoke at night. Pouring rain.
28 Colder. Just doing odd jobs. Choir practice here at night. Pouring rain.
29 S. Warm and rained most of day. Stayed in bed until 4 PM. Baptist church at night.
30 Nice day. Lorraine in bed in AM with cold. PJ and I went visiting in afternoon to Lornes and Alex’s. Lois very sick.
Oct 1st Fine day. Mr Green here helping Dad with cellar wall. May & Will McKendrick here for supper and Ham here for evening. Hamilton Laird died this morning. Thyra Clarke married to Fred Bingham.

2nd Lovely morning. Nasty squall in afternoon. Dad ploughing in AM and picking cranberries in PM. Pauline went up West.
3rd Got a telegram from Murray. A new girl arrived at 2 AM. So glad its over. Lovely day. Dad gone to funeral. Lois very sick. Marion Elizabeth Pat.
4 Lovely day all day but raining to-night. Lorraine went to YPS with Mr Paterson. Dad finished the cranberries and I spent the afternoon at the shore.
5 Fine but colder. Busy all day. Lois better. Ernest plowing. Made jelly for Ham. Cleaned chest in kitchen.
