24 Showery but fine to-night. Everyone stepping on it to-day. Girls got first raspberries to-night. Dad & I went in to Lewis Toombs. Two boys from Cardigan have car trouble.
31 Very warm and very busy. Mrs Timmins has been sick for days and Dr Mellish took her to the PE Island Hospital. Everyone worried and very tired. Camp fire at shore.
Aug 1 Lovely day but very very warm. Mr. Carse and Mr. Longstaff took a party out fishing and had a great day. Ernest & James O. went to Town with Austin and are not home at 11 PM. Mr. Timmins came out to-night.
7 Cavendish Tea. Mrs Levi Laird and Mrs William Campbell of Rustico died and were buried on the 9th. A double funeral at the church in Cavendish.

The Gillings here and the Windsor girls, Misses Robertson, Kennedy Coulter, Stanley, and Winnie[?]. The Haydens here five weeks. Miss Bell came the 14th and Miss Piers the 20th. Other odds and ends in between. Mr & Mrs Manning and Mr & Mrs Cox here for three days. They were from Melrose Boston. The Browns and Van Nordens from New York were here, enough. Had terrible hot weather for nearly two

weeks. Reuels here for a week. Temp 95 on north side of house and 112 & 118 in the sun. Served meals out doors for three evenings. Terrible storm on Aug 25. Loss of life out sea off Newfoundland Coast. The Mannings came the 25th. Grain terribly tangled and not very well filled. Potato crop small.
29 Rained all night but fine to-day and very warm. Ernest cutting shore field.
30 Quite warm. Ernest finished cutting. Nan went to town and Lorraine went to Kensington to YPS Convention as a delegate.
31 Rained all day. Sewing at Anita Kimona. Invited up to Freds for ice cream etc. Miss Piers, the last of our guests left this AM.
Sept 1st Lovely day all day. Mother down and K & Margaret and Ina up also Arthur. Lorraine home for evening
2 Lovely day. Nan washed a few things. Messeurs Prowse and Webster out for the day. Mr & Mrs Heinz here for night. Gertrude and the Woolners here for evening.
3 Another lovely day. Men taking in grain at Hams. Anita packing. Finished her Kimona. Mr & Mrs Pulsifer arrived at night.
