Aug 1927
21 Fine. The bunch went home about 4 PM. Mrs Herb Champion & Blanche, Mrs Henry & Mr Henry of Malpeque here and about ten other cars in the day. All the children sick.
22 Fine. All sick all day. Keith & Dad got the meals. Dad at Mrs Bonnells. Anita went to Grahams Road with Gordon Fyfe.
23 Fine day. Mr. Brown came at night. Nan & Waine sick again.
24 Poured rain all day and to-night is a North East storm a terrible storm. Keith got a nice mess of trout.
25 Lovely morning after the storm. Terrible night, worst storm in 54 years in NS. The big tree in front of house blew down and my lovely garden is ruined. Annie Tennis here all day.
26 Started cutting oats in field across the brook, terrible mangled. Mr McLeod, Miss Murchison, Miss McKenzie here to tea. Anita & the Browns went to town with Mrs Bonnell.
27 Lovely day but looks like rain to-night. Busy all day and tired. Dad finished cutting the field across brook.
Aug 1927
28 Lovely day again. McLeod preached in U Church in afternoon. Dad & I went to New Glasgow at night with Mrs. Bonnell. Anita went to Stanley in AM.
29 Lovely day until about 5:30 PM. Then poured rain. Did a whale of a wash. Tired.
30 Very hot and muggy this morning. Busy all day. Dad & I went to Rustico at night. Thrashed timothy seed.
31 Lovely day but very warm. Very busy, getting ready for Montreal nurses. Ernest cut wheat.
Sept 1st Very warm early. The Browns left this AM for home and the nurses came at noon. Dad & I went to Alberts to-night. Dad got his Government job to-day.
2 Fine in morning. The nurses went to Ch Town for Miss MacFarlanes sister. Their names are Miss Boyd, Misses Odell and Lyle MacFarlane. Rained in afternoon.
3 Fine, very warm, muggy weather. Very busy all day. Mr McFarlane came at night so I have six now. Miss Moore & Anna over.
4 Fine day, threatened rain but cleared up fine and cool at night. No preaching
