17  Terrible gale and very heavy sea. Lobster fishing stopped at Rustico a week ago. Lovely evening but bitter cold. Ernest & I went to Institute at Leigh Warrens. Nearly froze coming home. Good meeting.

 

18  Lovely day. Frost on bridge below road this AM. Clouded up and a glorious rain to-night. Nan at Wilburs to-day all day. They are in town.

 

19  NE. Perfect day. Ernest working in cemetery. Keith laid up with sore throat & ear. Nan went up to Mother’s. Anna & I were down to Alex’s.

 

20  Keith quite sick quinsey. Had Dr. Stevenson, he lanced his throat and relieved it some. Ernest took load of lumber to Rustico. Just a glorious day after the heavy shower last night.

 

21  Sunday. Fine day. Mr Paton of Manchester England spoke in Pres. Church. Marion went to Wyand and Anita is at Bay View. Keith better.

 

22  Warm sultry. Heavy rain in town all day. Alex McNeil took Jerrys in. Marion there to-day. Glorious rain here to-night, just a spill.

 

23  Fine to-day. Peter Murray here working in woods. Mrs Herbie Simpson very poorly. Marion and Anna away all afternoon to Rustico.

24  Fine. K. took Mr. Phillips to H. River. Washed. Ernest hauling lumber to Mill & to Rustico, then another trip to Roy Toombs with sow. Marion went to B View for Nan.

25  Fine in AM but glorious rain to-night. Ernest still hauling lumber. Stayed in bed til noon.

 

26  Fine. Busy. Ernest took load to mill. Keith went to Roy’s for sow. Weeding strawberries. Anna & I went down to Milton McKenzies to arrange for picnic to Exp. Farm.

 

27  Fine. Peter here hoeing. Marion & Nan got a nice lot of wild strawberries. Busy all day. Ernest took last load of lumber to Rustico. Back at field to-night.

 

28  Sunday. Warm sultry day. Enid & Reuel were out and took Mother. Cecil & I down to Townsends. Had a glorious drive. Girls at shore all day. Glorious rain to-night. Just a downpour and so warm.

 

29  Warm again and blowing hard. Ernest & K. working at manure, making compost pile by the binder house. Mother & I went up to Herbie Simpson’s to-night. Mrs. Herbie very very poorly.

 

30  Just a downpour of rain in AM and nearly all day and still raining. Mrs. Herbie very poorly to-night. School exam. The last of Geo McKinley. Marion went. Mr. Aitken called this evening.
