went to pieces after Anne & Charles left.
26 Felt alright in morning but something happened and Keith had to get Dr and Dad and I was in bed for several days. Got home on Dec 31st and still feeling anything but OK on Jan 1st 1941. Quite mild weather since Christmas. Poured rain on Dec 30th. Good car road on pavement.
Jan 1 1941 A nice mild day. Temp 28 all day to-night 26A. Mrs Lowther here all afternoon and evening. Heber went to Town to supper.
2 Heber came out this AM. Snowed a little but it helped the road rather than hurt it. Feeling only fair. Ernest went to see Lorne. He is still very sick.
3 A lovely fine day and not cold. Ernest went up for Mother and Mrs Fred Clarke, Mrs Lewis Toombs and Alec & May were here. About all in at night.
4 Blowing and cloudy all day. Ernest down to see Lorne this afternoon and he is feeling much better. Pauline made pumpkin pies. Pauline had letters from England.
5 Snowed some last night and still dirty this AM.
6 A miserable day not fit to wash. Blowing. CGIT at Greens. Annie & Charles here to supper.
7 Still blowing but fine. Pauline and Ernest washed. Pauline & Heber went over to Lowthers in evening.
8 Cold wind and cloudy and snow flurries. Nothing special doing.
9 4 above this morning but a lovely day all day. Dad took me for a drive to Lornes. Lorne is better and was able to go to barn to-day. Roads rough, pitches and snow banks, ice and bare ground. Letter from Keith, he is still alone. Eric Bell here in evening.
10 Quite chill this morning but lovely night to-night.
