23 Busy day all day getting ready for YPS Christmas tree. Turned colder in evening and snow flurries. About thirty here. Our box of books at the Station. 39 cards came to day.
24 Snowed a little all day and blowing. Got house snugged up and made a big batch of doughnuts. Took the battery and anti-freeze out of car. The goose is ready for the oven. Good radio program to-night, listening to Vancouver.
25 30A. Nice Christmas day with plenty of sun and snowing all day. No wind and the trees perfectly lovely. Very little frost. May and Alec up to dinner. Ernest miserable with sciatic. Heard the Kings message at 11 AM. Charlie McKenzie, Annie & Edward Lowther in evening. Marions letter came at noon. 123 Christmas cards came.
Wind east
26 Blew hard last night and still snowing a little today. Ernest pretty bad with sciatica. Charlie took the girls to church. Not many there. Still snowing.
27 Ernest in bed good and solid. Girls did the work. Anita has a party here to-night. Rough night.
28 Not a bad day, a lot of snow down just like down. Girls washed a big washing. Dad a little easier. Marguerite, David and Ham here this evening. Blew hard in the night.
Colder
29 2A. Much colder and getting colder all day until it went to 2 above at night, and blowing a gale. Got pretty lame[?] so we are moving Dad down stairs to-morrow.
30 2B and a lovely bright day. Good to see some sunshine. Charlie McKenzie in this AM.

31 3B and kept that way all day. Just zero at midnight. Ernest not so well today. Bitter cold. YPS at Austins.
Jan 1 5 above but bitter cold in morning. Moderated during day and 20 above at night. Ernest not a great deal better. Very tired of bed. David came and took the girls up to Charlies to practice.
2 S. Snowed and rained and blowing hard all day. No church anywhere. Annie & Lowell in for a little while to-night. Ernest better to-day.
3 14A Pretty nice day. Girls washed & I churned. Blew hard but very nice afternoon. Charlie & Ham here at time. Ernest Winnie & John over in the evening.
4 26A and just a perfect day. Ernest feeling much better. Got our box of books from Aunt Maud. Pauline went for her lesson to Lewis Toombs. Finished my white shawl. CGIT at Manse. Milton Green here this evening.
5 30A. Raining in the morning. Some of men came to saw and ‘twas too wet. Got started in afternoon and didn’t do much. Mr Tillie called. Tired to night. Mr McLaren died in Hospital.

6 16A. Lovely day all day. Not a cloud and calm. Men tried to saw wood but Prestons engine wouldn’t work. Got Freds. Got word to-night of Mr McLarens death.
7 Men here at wood. Finished the pile out here. Started snowing in afternoon and rained at night. Girls did not get to Group.
8 38A. Thawed a lot and has settled the snow a lot. Got up and put on fires and turned into bed with sore back. Ernest a little better.
