9 S. Fine and colder. The girls walked to church. Wind cold and blew harder by night and was 12 above. Marguerite here for dinner.
10 2B. Bitter cold morning. Ernest better to-day but feeling pretty rotten myself. Girls busy all day trying to keep house warm and with the work to do.
11 Wind moving but not blowing so hard and very fine. Moonlight nights and Pauline had a skate before and after CGIT at Manse. Lewis and Cora Toombs here in evening.
Malones house burned
12 10 above and a lovely day all day. Nero went walking and the girls went to Herb McEwens for him. Dr Mellish over in afternoon and Miss Cameron with him. Practice at Johnstons and Rink at Stanley. Jas O’s Jerrys and Lem Wyands at ice which is around 12 inches thick. Cecil has Myron Brintons Cottage hauled and men working at Earls house getting it moved. Malone getting Alf Moores house. Lovely night.
Zero at night
13 Zero. Heavy white frost and chill. Ernest better. Chill east wind. Ham here in afternoon. Not so frosty.
14 24A at one time today, down in evening. Ernest got out a little while. Mr Tillie called. YPS at Lewis Toombs. Girls drove.
15 8 above this morning and 10 above to-night. Ernest out more to-day. Pretty sore, me. Got room fixed up in spare room with two beds. Gordon here this evening.
16 S. 6 above in AM and 4A at night. Lovely day all day. Girls walked to church in afternoon. Mr Quigley and Robbie & Annie and Margaret Moore called. Sing song at night at Mrs Johnstons. Gorgeous moon light.

17 6 above. Quite a cold day. Girls washed and went to Rink at Stanley at night. Hockey game Stanley & French River. Score 5 x 2 for French River. Ham here all the evening & Edward.
18 Zero this morning, cold north wind. Ernest has men working at ice. Bitter cold night. CGIT here to-night.

19 2 below but a perfectly clear bright day. Finished ice at home and at Lowthers. Institute at Olaf Stevensons. Nita & PJ took Mrs Lowther, 12 above to-night.
20 8 above this AM and 14 this evening. Just another perfect day. Ernest went for drive up to Alf Moores. Anita went up for Mrs Hammond at noon.
21 16 above. Ernest & Pauline went to town in afternoon. Light snow flurries that didn’t amount to much. YPS at Manse. Big fighting bout in NY between Tommy Farr & Jim Bradock. The latter won out.
22 8 above. Just another perfect winter day but wind cold. Girls went over to see Ham but he wasn’t home. Pauline got a new coat & Dad got a leather one and a pair of high boots. They had a nice time in Town. Quite frosty to-night. Boston Bruins 9. Maple Leafs 1.

23 S. 2 above. Nice day. Church in afternoon. Sing song at Lewis Toombs. Pretty cold but very bright.
24 Could not move this morning or all day. Cloudy but milder. Girls washed & churned.
25 42 above Dad went to Hunter River with the Aunt Maud bedroom furniture for Marion. Kept pretty quiet. CGIT at Mary McNeills. Letter from Mr McKay referring to Mrs Wyand & ice at shore.
