6  34A. night. Cloudy all day. In bed until noon. Three men extra for dinner beside Ham. Cleared up this evening and freezing at 10 PM. Letter from Peggy.

 

7  40A. Too dirty to wash. Expected men but they didn’t come. Mr McKay here in afternoon also Mr McLarren. Men work at Bath house.

 

8  Washed. Cloudy in forenoon but cleared up lovely. No frost. Roads terrible. Very little travelling. Bobbie brought a wagon.

9  Poured rain all day. No work done here in woods. No news. Anita went over to see Ellice in afternoon.

 

10  Very nice day. Ernest has a clean up crowd in the woods. In bed until noon. Anita went to Hampshire with Frank Houstons to Gertrude Acklands wedding. YPS at Church.

11  Just a perfect day. Ernest cleaning rubbish out of woods back the lane. Made Christmas fruit cake. Roads bad.

 

12  Snowing this AM. No frost. Family went to church. wrote to Lottie Simpson and Marion.

 

13  Blowing a gale and some snow flying. Washed. no news. Men still clearing and burning brush. Anita in bed most of day.

14  Still snowing and blowing. Ernest went to Rustico for meat. Road bad. Ham here this evening.

 

15  Grey day with a little snow flying. Blowing hard. Men in bush clearing and burning. Institute at Jerrys. Eric Bell here this evening.

16  Nice morning. Jim Warren drove our car and took us to town. Road rough to Rustico but pavement good.

17  Rather dirty but not cold. Snowed most of afternoon but cleared up at night and a very beautiful night out side. Dad & I went to Alecs for evening.

 

18  Lorraine taught school to-day. The men had to stop work in afternoon as it was snowing and very dirty. Rained hard before night. Girls scrubbed the school. Charlie & David here to practice.

 

19  Nice day, not cold. Anita took the car to church in afternoon. Harry McKenzie & wife here before & after church. Ellice & Austin here & Fred & Hester in evening. Little Ronnie Blacquire died in Hospital. Amos is in the woods in Quebec.

20  Dad & I went in to Tennis’s in morning. Dad found the ringed neck male partridge remains back in woods. Had been killed by hawk or owl. Choir practice. Gordon here. Not washing this week. Very cold to-night.

 

21  6 above. Frosty. Pauline in for her lesson to Lewis Toombs and Anita & Dad went to Rustico, took car. Got a quarter of pork. Girls busy with Christmas stuff. Lots of mail.

 

22  Lovely day, not very cold. Jim Warren & Anita went to town. McKay & Sutherland here for dinner. Examination and concert at night.
