6  banquet at Jerry Simpsons. Over three hundred teachers fed and about 150 others. Warm day, all tired to-night.

 

7  89 degrees. Very hot all day and calm. Very tired and busy, Anita went down to Ben Woolners for a few days. Marion and Waine & PJ & I thought we would sleep out in the tent but it came up a downpour of rain and we came in at 1 AM.

 

8  Still pouring rain and a howling northeast storm. No church but a grand day to rest.

Mrs. Joseph Bagnall died.

 

9  Showery and cool, Ernest hauling logs to mill. Busy and sleepy. Tired since the banquet

 

10  Lovely day, washed. Marion went up to Freds to pick cherries. Went with Wilburs to James Bulmans to-night.

11  Fine warm. Mrs Bagnall buried this afternoon. Ernest & I went over this afternoon, long dry, dusty drive. Mother & Cecil down this evening. XYZ.

 

12  Lovely day, very busy. Keith at McCoubrey’s working at hay. Got word from town to night that Belle & Will Hill May McKendrick & two ladies from Conn. US are coming here tomorrow morning. Man drowned at Milton.

 

13  Crowd arrived about 9 or 9:30. May, Belle Will Mrs Wilkins & Miss Nash & Russel Webb. Pretty busy all day and tired at night. Miss Edwards spoke to the group last night. Raining a little.

 

14  Cloudy but didn’t rain much. The crowd got away before eight oclock except Russel. Practice here to-night.

 

15  Sunday. Lovely day all day. Russel Webb still here. Mr. Alymer of New York preached in Baptist Church. Large crowd out and a splendid sermon.

 

16  Lovely morning, cool. Ernest & I went with Wilburs to town. Had a busy day. Mr. & Mrs. John Robinson of Chicago came here to stay a few days.
