January 20 Went up to see Mabel and Stirling this afternoon. Girls went with David to New Glasgow Rink.
21 Cloudy and chill but not so frosty. Church in AM. Charlie went up for Mother. Sing Song at Lewis Toombs.
22 16. A lovely day. Girls washed and men here, have the rafters on Machine shed. Ernest and Charlie at ice.
23 4 above and blowing and drifting. Mother here and will not get home to-day. No ice hauling to-day.
24 A lovely day. Finished ice before dinner and Clarke took mother home. Not feeling very good.
25 Another lovely day. Temp got up to 30 above. Reg Simpson took the girls to Stanley rink. Snowing all evening but calm. Men went home after dinner.
26 Fine and about 3 inches of light snow over everything. Carpenters didn’t come back. Parliament met in Ottawa yesterday and dissolved after 4 hours. Elections around last of March. 26th in fact.
27 S. A lovely day but a bit cold. Ernest & I went into town on the noon train. Had dinner at Old Spain and stayed at Reuels all night. Went to a show. Weird Indian warfare stuff.
28 S. Had a terrible headache in morning and in afternoon went with Reuels to Government House to call. Had dinner at night at Old Spain, guest of Will Dennis. Mr & Mrs Bell and Mr & Mrs Luck in after church service.

28 Snowing quite thick in evening. Baptist church at night.
29 Snowing a little and drifting. Came out on noon train and got home at 5 PM. A very heavy road. Lorraine has a nasty cold again. Alec Toombs got rather badly hurt while thrashing. Glad we got home.
30 A lovely day. Lorraine in bed this forenoon. Has quite a cough. PJ & I washed. Dad and I were to see Alec Toombs. Shower at Stanley for Hilda Hiscott & Elmer Fyfe. David took the girls. About 150 there and the girls got home at 3 AM on the
31st Zero this morning and calm. Heavy white frost. The carpenters and Don & Ray Bagnall here for dinner. CGIT at Miltons to-night.
Feb 1 Fine day and about 16 above at night. Not much extra doing these days. The carpenters here.
2 Chill wind to-day. Girls getting ready to go to town to-morrow. Lorraine went to Bible Class at Jerrys. Edward & Annie Lowther went to Carleton to-night.
3 4. Girls got away to town and Ernest brought home a load of coal. Pretty cold and a snow flurry at night and blowing a gale all night.
4 S. 4 above and sunny but cold. Ernest went to church in afternoon and Charlie was here to supper. Still blowing.
5 Zero. Quite a cold day but fine. Messers Campbell and Paynter arrived before dinner. Ernest went to Hunter River
