Frenchman from Rustico hauled a boat across New London Bay on April 17th
12 Another miserable day all day. Snowed and rained and north east wind. Inches of snow down. Practice here to-night for dialogue. Still quilting.
13 Snowing morning but cleared up very fine and temp up to 40A. Finished quilt. Got a letter from Aunt Sadie and a card from Nan. She is going with Aunt Maud for a year. The girls Lorraine & PJ at Ernest McNeills to supper.
14 A lovely morning and a perfect sleigh road. Dad and I went to Rustico in morning and to Ben Woolners for dinner. Thawing in afternoon. Five feet of snow in some places on the road. Letters from Mrs Gillings & Marion.
15 A miserable day. Temp 38 in forenoon and raining a little down to 20 by evening and snowed all the afternoon with a NE gale. The CGIT girls here this afternoon and had a fine time baking. Got up a very nice supper.
16 S. Cold and drifting. West wind. Ernest and girls went to church this afternoon. Fine and calm to-night.
17 Just a perfect day and PJ and Dad & I did a whale of a washing. Baked bread. And went to Institute at Mike Doyles at night. A perfect road.
18 Fine but cloudy in afternoon. Much warmer all day and no frost at night. Brook high. House cleaning up back stairs. Painted wood work. A fine mess. CGIT at Ernest Macneills. Charlie had Gypsy for the day.
19 Damp to-day and foggy. Ernest painting. Headache

Situation in Europe very tense
19 all day. Practice for dialogue here. Lightening to-night. Large French Liner burned this morning in La Harve.
20 54A. A lovely day and the snow has gone like smoke. Ernest painting. PJ and I cleaned the dining room. Pauline has gone over to Mrs Lowthers to see the play that the Mayfield bunch are getting up. Rustico mail man had wagon.
21 52A. Another lovely day and the snow is disappearing and a lot of road is bare. Did some straightening up and baked ginger cookies and made doughnuts & biscuits. Charlie down this evening. Sunday school meeting at Church.
22 60A. Fine and warm. Blowing and drying. A wonderful change in a week and the Mayfield road will some be bare. Cleaned back porch.
Bobbie had a wagon
23 S. Fine and not cold. Quiet day. Girls went to shore in forenoon. Ice off of shore. Pauline went over to Mrs Lowthers in afternoon. The rest of family went to church at night.
24 Nice day. Did another big wash and Pauline cleaned the spare bed room. Not feeling very good. Practice here at night. Very bright northern lights and frost to-night.
25 Rather cold to-day. Ernest went to Rustico in afternoon. Bad road. Got wall paper for room over kitchen. CGIT girls here at night. Great preparations for the coming banquet. Pauline finished ironing.
26 Still cold. Ernest & I papered all day and are very tired to-night. Not much ice in sight.
