Peter Stewart and James Fraser found dead in their home at Harrington on Feb 8
7 Zero or below this morning. Dad went to Hunter River and just the regular work going on. Charlie here this evening.
8 4A. Still very cold with east wind all day. Didn’t get warm all day. Girls went to Stanley to a Concert put on by the womens Institute. Very good program.
9 Still a very bleak cold wind and light snow falling. Wind north west and blowing hard to-night.
10 Dad took Lorraine to school but only three children there. All have a kind of Grippe. Lorraine in bed all afternoon. Blowing hard at night, snowed rained etc.
11 A nice day and not too cold. Temp got up to 38 but went down again at night. Ernest cutting out some dry wood in the old orchard. Charlie down helping in afternoon. Dad & I went to Miltons in the evening. Capt Buote & Mrs Buote wedding anniversary 65 years married. They celebrated on the 9th and had a big crowd that night.

12 S. A very nice day all day but frosty. Mr Tillie preached in Baptist Church to-night. Pauline the only one to go from here.
13 6A. Snowed a little in morning and we just didn’t wash. Lorraine went to school and came home again. Temp around 10 above. Dad got Gypsy home.
14 Cloudy. Anita & Lorraine in bed all day. Pauline & I washed. Dad went to Stanley for groceries. The room flue burned most of day. Bernice Axworthy here to tea.

15 In bed with flu but the girls better and able to get downstairs. The school closed for the week.
Very heavy thunder and lightning in Maritimes.
16 Margaret came up from Carleton with Lowell Wyand. Blowing a gale at night. Mild day.
17 Margaret over in morning. Dad went to Stanley in AM and came home chilled and sick.
18 Margaret over again. Pauline busy with so many invalids and the girls are helping to find the house. Dad very miserable. Mr Tillie here in afternoon.
19 S. Lorraine & PJ went to church in afternoon. Wind cold. Margaret and Charlie here at night. Very cold night.
20 Anita had her suit case packed to go to Town but the morning was stormy so she didn’t get. A bitter cold morning and day. Lorraine teaching, had five pupils. Pauline in bed today.
21 8A. Anita went to Town to short course. Charlie took her to HR. P got up and did what had to be done. Dad in bed all day. A fine day but cold. Cecil has had a relapse of mumps.
22 Beginning of Lent. A rough morning. Feeling rotten all forenoon. All ate a little supper. PJ not feeling quite so good.
23 Cold. In bed almost all day. Feeling very rotten. Got up before supper and back to bed again in evening. Dad up today. Snowed and hailed most of night.
24 Blowing a gale. Bad walking for Lorraine. Charlie here all this week. Got up before dinner and baked in afternoon. Feet quite proud to be able to do that. Not so cold to-night. Had a nice long letter from Aunt Maud.
