9 Cloudy and misty all day and rained in evening. Dad went to Hunter River for Pauline and took Lorraine up and she and Anita went to Town. Charlie McKenzie here all afternoon and evening. Anthony Eden spoke from New York.
10 Foggy, misty and pouring rain from 4:30. Ernest went to Rustico to meet the girls. Wilfred McLeod & Ben Woolner got them that far. All were drenched when they got home.
11 Stayed in bed all day. Girls went to church in forenoon. Edward over in evening. Back pretty sore to-night.
12 Pretty crippled but able to knit a little. CGIT here at night. Lorraine has a cold. Girls washed.
13 Anitas birthday. Feeling better but not moving around much. Made an apron. Roads not so good. Snow on ground but not cold. Getting roads shoveled for cars.
14 Kings birthday. Fine day. Mr Smith & McKay here for dinner. Dad went to Rustico in the forenoon and got the barrel of apples that Murray sent. Shipped a box of fish to Marion.
15 Colder to day and blowing a gale again to-night. Temp down to 8 but 10 above zero at 10 PM, zero in Montreal. Making aprons for Christmas.
16 Fine and cold but wind went down at night. Dad had Amos here hauling wood home from field.
17 A perfect day all day. Jack & Mary Stewart went to Town with the girls. Arthur Wright coming to Island to-night. Lorraine went to Borden with Stewarts to meet him.
18 Quite mild. No church service to-day. Charles McFarlane Annie Lowther Arthur & Lorraine arrived at supper time. Arthur very thin.
19 Fine day and we went to Ch. Town. Roads good for time of year. Quite a lot of snow on Dolph’s hill and the church hill here. Saw Otis[?] and had dinner at Enids. Got box of books from Maud.
20 Not a very nice day. Nan washed a few things and went to Rustico for brown sugar etc. Making aprons.
21 Lorraine busy practicing for school concert. Snowed in afternoon and blowing hard.
22 Snowed a little all day and blowing a gale. Heavy mail there days and bad roads for the mail carriers. School concert postponed.
23 Still a very rough day. Ernest went to H. River for Arthur but he did not come on the morning train. Got last of Christmas cards mailed. Arthur came at night with Edward and Annie. Ernest and I over to Austins for a little while.
24 Very nice day. Not cold but cloudy all day Dad & I went down to Alec for our chickens.
