November

 

12  Warm this morning but colder again this evening and blowing hard from NW. Mr Shehan plastering and made a cement doorstep for Kitchen. Trying to get the place clean for Sunday. Painted back porch floor. Otto at Alvahs to-night.

 

13  A cold day. Church in forenoon. Rained in afternoon. Mr Murdie and Sutherland here. Alvin, Dorothy McK, and the four Woolner girls here to tea. Otto came back to supper.

 

14  Washed in morning. Mr & Mrs McBeth here to dinner. A very busy day all day. Took Otto to Bay View and to Stanley for smelts.

 

15  Mother down to-day. Fine and cold. Otto has a cold. Everyone very busy. Miss Lena McLures recital at night. A big crowd there. Otto went down to Alvahs again.

 

16  7 degrees of frost this morning and blowing hard all day. Plumbers came in forenoon. Institute at Leigh Warrens at night. Anita took Otto to Emerald and Springfield.

 

17  Perfect morning but clouded up and snowed to-night but turned to rain. Lorraine took Otto to New Glasgow. Shutters all on to-night. Men digging drain for ceptic tank.

 

18  Foggy this morning but did not rain to-day. Mr Murdie and Mr McKay up this forenoon. Anita & Otto were up to Cedrics and to see Mrs Darnley. No Group to-night.

Isabel Doiron married on Nov 23

 

18  Lorraine went to Ch. Town with the plumbers.

 

19  Raining part of day. Plumbers finished for this trip. Bath room fixtures in place. We went to Town to-night and oh such a downpour of rain.

 

20  S. Fine but some snow flurries. Cleared up to night. Fred Clark & John Myers here to night. No church here to-day.

 

21  Fine day. Anita took Otto to Clifton and Hester & Sadie & Winnilea to Ch. Town. Mr Murdie here in afternoon and ordered work stopped. Tired to night.

 

22  A nice day. Mr Constable the only one here. Dad not feeling very good, back sore. Anita & I washed and cleaned and took Mr Constable home at night over a terrible road. Got word that Aunt Sadie is sick.

Frost all out and quite mild tonight

 

23  Fine day. Mr Shehan came this AM and finished the flower stand. Got a message from Margaret. Keith sick with trench mouth. Anita and I went down and brought the kiddies up. Isabel Tennis married. Lorraine went to the wedding.

 

24  Snowing most of day, very gentle and calm 4 ½ inches fell. Wind started in night. Just another day. Kiddies good but stirring.

 

25  One of the very worst snow storms in years and years. Ernest went over to school for Lorraine. Blowing a gale from NW to-night and colder. Highest tide in 15 years and great destruction among fishing gear.
