day. Mr Smith here to dinner and the Cowan’s friends and neighbours of Aunt Mauds here to supper with Mrs Campbell. Girls didn’t go to group at night. Mrs Abb Hiscott very sick also Mrs Herb McEwen.
Art Woolner new boy No 1
27 Lovely day. Very busy all day. Girls took Ina and Louise over to Elaines in afternoon for a little picnic. Anita and Edward went to Carleton at night.
28 Lovely day. Anita brought Keith and Margaret up also Annie & Bev Beers. Not as many in today. Heavy surf on. Went with Anita when she took the kids home. 10 ½ lb boy at Cecils at 3 AM.

29 A perfect day, not too warm. A huge washing again. Elaine and family here to tea. Reg McNeill went home this afternoon. Mr Tillie in this evening.
30 Very nice day. Lorraine went to Hunter River to Teachers Convention. Finished ironing. Had company. Mr Harry Brown and Eleanor. Hazel McCoubrey and Helen Woods. Mr Smith up.
31 Just a perfect harvest day and some people would finish. Mr McDoull here measuring the house again. Aunt Sadie making plans for home. Quite a number in among them the Aiten[?] ladies from Sussex. Took Mrs Lowther and went to Ben Woolners in evening. Work started over at Hams.
September 1938
1 Lovely morning but rained by 2:30 PM and men quit work at 3 o’clock. Made 14 qts plum jam and a batch of Indian Relish and various other jobs. Had all the Woods for the evening.
2 43A. Fine to day and everyone on the job. Dad dug up three apple trees in old orchard. Mrs Hammond down. Went up to Rupie Simpsons in evening Gertrude Lamont down. Norman Woods & Robbie here this evening. Cold to-night.
3 Had rather a busy day. Finished up my house dress. Went car riding in afternoon and to town at night. Went to a show. Not much good. Tired.
4 S. Very busy day. Seventy registered. Stewart and Hilda here for the day. United Church at night and we called to see the Patersons afterwards. Blowing hard.
5 A nice breezy day. Had dinner with Elaine. Myron came on the early boat and they were packing up. Alvin came down and Mrs Stewart came this afternoon. The young fry went to Ben Woolners.
6 Blowing hard and quite cold but fine. Finished ironing. Anita went to Hunter River to get car fixed etc. Went down to Alfred Moores to see Mrs Norman Woods and the baby boy. Called on the Woods family who are leaving in the morning for Toronto.
7 Blowing very hard all day. Not so busy. Aunt Sadie
