5 Mrs Murray here to wash. Bad headache all day. Feel mean to-night. Perfect moon light night.
6 Just a perfect day all day. Wind came around round N.E. at night and colder. Got in the ice to-day. Very good. 15 inches clear ice. Class at Mothers.
7 N.E. Very blowy in AM. 18 degrees above. K. at John Fs. Not doing much. K knit a pair of socks to-night.
8 SE. Snow storm. Very thick for awhile. K. at John F’s in forenoon.
9 Lovely day. Dad & Keith at Cecil’s in afternoon. Sawing wood. Letters from Lizzie Will Hill in hospital.
10 Fine day. Ernest & K. in woods. Dad churned. Pretty busy, not doing much. Mrs. Fred & Gertrude are quite sick with a sore throat. Dad, Lorraine, PJ & I went to Jerry’s in evening.
11 N.E snow storm this morning and blowing and drifting all day. No church. Mr. Aitkens got stuck on the road on his way to Stanley and stayed here til after tea. Feeling mean. Very cold.
12 Fine but very cold. Concert and lecture in Mayfield at night. On my back all day.
13 S.E. Very thick snowstorm, turned soft in the evening.
14 Lovely day. Not very cold. Turned frosty in evening. Whole family went up to Mother’s in evening, Radio not much. Lucy Sellars married.
15 8 below. 15 degrees at Hunter River. Blowing very hard clear and cold all day. Keith froze his face this morning coming home from woods. Didn’t do much to-day.
16 8 below. Very cold but not blowing and very bright all day. Moderated in afternoon.
17 20 above, snowed some in night. Ernest went to Rustico for sow. Road very bad. Anna came over after dinner. Howard Simpson died this morning.
18 Very cold and drifting. Pres. Church in the afternoon. 22 below at the mill at night. We went over to Jerry’s at night.
19 16 here this morning, 18 at mill. The men had a bitter cold day in cemetery. James Simpson here from 9 am to nearly one. Church meeting at 1 PM. Funeral at 3. Miss Margaret Bagnall and Mrs Wyand here for the afternoon and evening. Miss B. is from New Zealand and is a very interesting person to talk to. 6 below tonight.
20 16 below. Fine but very cold. Hammond McKenzie & wife called this afternoon. Earl Simpson’s baby has pneumonia.
