19 S.W. and a gale. N. at night and cold. Keith planting spuds at Mr. Greens. Ernest harrowing back at end of lane fields. Got Eaton order. Did some digging in Garden. Lettuce is up in garden.
20 W & N.W. + S.W. Fine day but cold. Keith harrowing. Washed in AM. Marion went over to Jerrys in afternoon.
21 N.E. in AM. Bitter cold all day. Ice in Gulf, not in close. Poor lobster season so far. Ernest sowed wheat this afternoon and mixed feed behind the barn. Churned in AM. Chickens hatching. Got seeds from Darling’s. Planted them in hot bed.
22 East Wind and bitter cold all day. Frost in AM. Cleaned washroom. Ernest got load of hay from Jerry. Keith harrowing.
23 N.W. Bitter cold. All kinds of ice in to-night. Rained in AM. Keith harrowing. E & I went up to Mothers in evening.
24 S.W. Perfect Morning, much warmer today. Took Keith up to Will Graham’s to plant potatoes. Ernest sowed seven acres back lane field. Reuel & Enid were out, called in evening. Mr Spriggs, his two daughters and two Misses Tompsons here for awhile. They had lunch back lovers lane. Letter from Lizzie. Elmer has been sick. Everybody very tired tonight.
25 S Blowing hard, started to rain about 4 PM and looks like all night. The first real rain since January. I went over to see Jimmie Laird in the morning. Ellice is home. Jimmie looks very miserable. Thyra here to tea, came from Sunday School. Nobody went to church from here on account of rain. I have $8 chickens.
26 W. & S.W. Perfect morning after the rain. Cutting sets. Keith harrowing back. Mr Stavert, Mr Aitken, and Miss Minnie Alward came in car at dinner time. Gave them dinner. Enjoyed their visit particularly Miss A’s She is Sam Alwards daughter. Ernest and I went up to Mothers after milking and Marion[?] & I went down to Ceds’. Everybody pretty well there. Marjorie looks fine.
27 S.W. Blowing hard. Have had so much high wind this spring. Ernest sewed middle back field. Marion & I washed. Cut sets in afternoon. Aunt M. miserable in morning. Churned after supper and set out dahlias. Ernest got hay at Jerry’s.
28 S. Raining early. Started planting potatoes about 9 AM. Mrs Eustis Murray & Keith. Ernest got a bag of flour at Harold Toombs’. Went over to Jerry’s for setting of eggs. Lorraine’s birthday, Marjorie was here for supper.
