6th S.W. & W. Lovely fine day, cool. Had Mrs. Murray up to clean Aunties house. Not very spry myself, me. Ernest & K. took banking away. No mail today.
7 N.W. & N.E. & S.E. Ice back again. Wind cold but a lovely bright day. Ernest went to Kensington with Will Graham to Patterson Walkers sale. Anna over in afternoon. Road drying up very good. Got our seeds from Rennies. Saw swallows.
8 S.E. N.E & N.W. At night tried to rain but failed. Planted hot bed. Ernest & K. got 5 beauty trout for supper. Down to Alberts at night.
9 N.E. wind cold and foggy all day till 5 PM. Ice back again lots of it. Not doing much. Ernest and Keith in cemetery. K & Anita went to B. View PM.
10 N.E. Fine but cold wind all day. Very heavy frost in morning. Ernest went to Rustico in AM. Girls cleaned dining room. Ernest to Stanley and Marion up to Mothers at night. Very tired. We can’t find Sandy.
11 Sunday. East wind but fine. Pres church in AM. Mothers day. Lorraine found strawberry blossoms. Anita and K went for May Flower Class at Mothers at night. Heard a little on Radio. Junior Laird sick. Sadie Head has no.5 in Epping NH.
12 East. Fine day. Washed in AM. Ernest went to Cecils for hay. Did a little gardening. Loraine went to school. Went to Jerrys in the evening. Anna not very well. Cemetery meeting at night. Wind south east, looks like rain.
13 S.E. Rained in AM. Ernest had two trips to Mayfield with & for sow. Concert in Mayfield, Keith and George have gone. Margaret has pneumonia. Planted lettuce parsley and a few onions. Hot bed up good. Roy Toombs’ have a baby girl.
14 S.W. Ernest went to H. River for fertilizer. Went to Rustico in evening, stayed at Hammond Toombs while Ernest went to Creek. First violets.
15 S.W. Lovely warm day. Heavy showers in the afternoon E. & I went up for clams, got them off Art Simpsons shore. Yum Yum Planted a few early potatoes in afternoon.
16 S.W. Lovely Day. Keith plowing the wheat land. Cleaned the front room & hall. Pretty tired tonight. Letters from Elaine.
17 S.W.; W; N; + S.W. Lovely day, warm. Ernest went to Creek for rope. Seed & fertilizer for Cemetery. Busy all day. Keith in bed in afternoon. Marion and Anita went up for Mayflowers.
18 Sunday. S. Lovely day but blew a gale all day. Enid & Reuel’s got as far as Dolph Fleming’s had a blow out and had to turn back. Had our first rhubarb in a pudding today. Children went up to Bay View to-night.
