Old Bob Wyands marriage came out in the paper.

 

23  Wilbur drove our two boarders to Ch Town. Sold 5 qts berries to Mrs. Albert.

 

24  81. Lovely day but warm. Busy.

 

25  Threatened rain in morning. Pauline not feeling well, went down to Alberts in evening. Mr Stavert preached in Baptist church. Deathly sick at night.

 

26  Better to-day but not very spry. Irene Card here with Gertrude this evening. Vivian here. Took in three loads of hay.

 

27  84. Fine, smoky and warm. Cutting coiling and raking. Washed and baked. Miss Edwards has gained 3 ½ pounds.

 

28  89 at times to-day, very calm and hot. Ironing. Ernest took in three loads of hay, coiling & raking. Keith & Marion took Vivian back to New Glasgow.

 

29  82 at 8 am but wind came N & N.E and it was lovely and cool. Lorraine rather miserable to-day. Have 11 loads of hay in. Over to see Anna this evening but a squall came up so Ernest came after. New calf.

 

30  Nice day, looked like rain several times. Everybody busy at hay, etc.

31  Busy at hay. Made a dress for Anita. She went up to Wilburs and with them to Rustico.

 

Aug 1  Fine, warm, and very dusty. A lot of cars on the go to shore. Keith & I drove to New Glasgow. Vivian has been sick. Brought a kitten home.

 

2  Washed & baked and busy all day. Dad & I went to Rustico this evening. Had lunch at Mrs Chester Woolner’s. Preparing for big banquet.

 

3  Fine in morning but foggy, cleared up very hot and calm. Dad & I went down to pond and over to Mr Bonnells. Bonnells have bought Pierces old place. Rained hard this evening & night.

 

4  Fine, men put up tables for banquet. Busy baking all day. Miss Moore came to Jerry’s. Our boarders went to S Side with Wilbur. Over to Anna’s a little while this evening.

 

5  Perfect day, not very hot. Ernest working at Jerry’s this afternoon. Miss Moore came yesterday and was here this afternoon.

 

6  Just a perfect day and a big one for Cavendish. The Institute entertained the Federated Teachers Convention of Canada at a
