Sept & October 1924

25  afternoon and evening to see the Johnson Paintings. Had a lovely evening. Poor Nan got a whipping in school.

26  Fine, clear and lovely in afternoon. Marion picking cranberries all day. Did some baking. Marion, Anita & Miss Johnson went up to Bay View to hear radio. Alex’s up for tomoatoes. Have over 20 nice citron this year. Feels like frost tonight.

27  Just a perfect day, quite warm. Did not have frost here but there was in some places. Keith came home from Carleton. He has had quite enough. Mother down picking cranberries this afternoon. Directors meeting tonight. Leonora McNeil died this evening at Josie McEwens where she has been working as housekeeper for sometime.

28  Sunday. Perfect day. Rev H R Boyer preached in B. church in afternoon. Enid & Reuel out.

29  Perfect weather, clear and warm. Washed in morning and went to Campbellton to Marie McNeil’s funeral at 10 o clock. Got apples at Wallace McKay’s. Went over to Jerry’s to say goodbye to the Johnsons and up to Mothers to hear radio up to eleven I guess.

30  Fine but cloudy. Dr. Thompson here today. Went to pick cranberries and Emily McNeil came. Chivarive at Mother’s tonight for Myron & Elaine. Marion went to Emerald with Cecil for them.

Oct 1st  Rained in forenoon. Mother & Cecil came down to see Emily and Myron & Elaine came to pick cranberries. Willie McNeil came up before dinner and they left in the rain. Mr. & Mrs. Green up in evening. Children went up to Bay View to social evening.

2  Colder but fine. Did a tremendous washing tonight this morning of bedding. Elaine & Myron came down and picked cranberries. Anita & I went down after dinner. Finished at shore. Two men came and stayed all night.
