23  Lovely day but cool. Not feeling extra good but managed to keep busy all day. The girls went to the shore with Miss Moore. Margaret Johnson & Mima called this evening.

 

24  Sunday. Perfect day in bed till nearly dinner time. Anna & Jerry came over for a little while. Elaine down for the day. The Johnsons here for a little while this afternoon. Rachel has had a stroke but is a little bit better today. Aunt Margaret terrible today.

 

25  Fine day but a damp fog in the morning. Brighter in afternoon. Ernest took in barley. Myron came up from Montague. I went down to McCoubreys in evening. Rachel pretty poorly, has had a stroke I think. Myron & Elaine here when I came home.

 

26  S, S.E. Rained all day and very heavy in evening with a little thunder & lightning. Keith & Marion caught 35 trout and seven perch. Had a pretty good dinner and supper. Aunt M. very miserable all day. Captain Will Miller and crew of The “Anna McDonald” &the vessel wrecked off Halifax.

 

27th  Terrible night rained and blew a gale. My poor garden flat this morning, dahlias broken. Ernest cut the wheat to-day. Myron & Elaine here for supper.

 

28  Fine, quite warm. Not feeling very well to-day. Just tired. Ernest cut 2nd back field of oats. Heard that Captain Miller’s vessel wrecked. No word yet of crew. I went over to Jerry’s this evening. Aunt M. very quiet today. No word of Captain Miller & crew. It is feared all are lost.

 

29th  Lovely day quite warm. Ernest thrashed timothy. The Blackmoors went away today. Ernest & I went to Rustico to-night.

 

30  Lovely harvest day again. Ernest & Keith took in 5 loads of oats today. Baked Elaine’s wedding cake. Dr. Nelson Banks speaking in Pres Church to-night. Aunt M. very poorly.

 

31  Sunday. Fine. Ham here to dinner. I went in to town with Enid & Reuel in evening. Poured rain all night.
