July 31 Lovely day. Very busy all day. Mrs. Eustache washing in AM. Belle & Marion & Keith went back for raspberries and got about 14 qts. Ernest working at Cecil’s at hay & Director’s meeting at night. Tired. Had Dr. Fleming yesterday to see Aunt M.
Aug 1st N. Fine clear. Wind north & northeast. Ernest at Bay View all day at hay. Aunt M pretty cranky. Clam stew for lunch. Reuel called and left some trout.
2nd 3 new potatoes for dinner. Fried trout for breakfast. Will & Belle & Keith caught 7 trout and two perch. Will and Ernest went to Rustico Harbour for fish. Joseph Bagnall is very sick in PEI hospital, blood poisoning. Mrs. Eddie Toombs in asylum.
3 Sunday. Fine north wind. Reuel, Enid, Pauline, Cecil & mother down for a while this AM. Will, Belle & Ernest & I went to church at French River. Went to see Stella Keller before church. Mr. Mackintosh, Mr. Aitken, and Miss Haslam spoke in Pres church to-night.
4 S.W. & blowing a gale and oh so dry. The ground is like ashes. Belle & Ernest & I washed this morning. The girls & Keith went for raspberries, got over a bucket full. Darkened up this evening and rained a little at 9: 30.
5 Cloudy in AM. The rain didn’t amount to much. Busy all day. Ernest went to Bradalbane with cheese. Belle & I went over to Jerry’s for a little while this evening. Belle, Will, & Keith caught 29 trout this AM.
6 Very very hot. 87 after dinner and 93 before supper. Bell & Will left for town this morning. They were going to Gordon’s. Ernest & I & 2 small folks went down to the shore after milking.
7th Very warm. Washed in AM. Joseph Bagnall died at 7:30 this morning. Preston
