15th Ernest to mill with lumber in morning took a load to EC LePages. Myron & Elaine here in AM.
16 S.W. Dry and blowing. Ernest and I went to Roderick McClure’s funeral. Very large funeral. Dr. George Carruthers buried to-day in Ch’Town. Gordon brought Keith home. Marion & Ruth came out with them. Down fishing, got one.
17 S. wind. Very warm. Had a very heavy thunderstorm about 9 AM. Heavy clouds all day. And thunder and more rain at night. Keith & Nan started fishing in morning but the storm drove them home. Picked about 7 qts berries to-day.
18 Heavy rain this morning and some thunder. Had very heavy thunder early in the morning in town. Busy all day. Gordon’s crowd came out in the evening to stay here and start for O’Leary in morning.
19 Red sunrise. Up at 4:30. The crowd Ernest & Puppy included got away a little after six. Picked berries till dinner time. Tired. Feeling very tired to-day. Blowing hard all day. Had a very heavy shower about 6:30 PM, almost like a cloud burst. A little hail with it and a magnificent rainbow after it was all over. Cecil took me down to McLure to practice.
20 Sunday. Raspberries for breakfast. Just one perfect day. Pres church in AM. Keith & Anita & Waine went. Marion came home at noon. Enid & Reuel brought her. She got her hair cut in town. Mr Mason preached this afternoon and he & Judson Simpson came here to supper. Another busy day.
21 Lovely day. Up at 4:30 AM. Got milk out and breakfast ready by 6 AM. Picked berries all day. Sold ten quarts and gave Lydie a bucketful. They got home at 8:15. Had a great trip.
