June & July 1924
29th all day. Ernest and I went over to Jerry’s in evening. Mima home alone.
30 Lovely day. Dark in AM but lovely afternoon. Cedric Simpson & wife have a Boy. Busy all day. Ernest fencing. I was over at John Fs this evening with the kiddies.
July 1st. Lovely day. Washed in AM and sewed in P.M. A lot of cars on the go today. Two cars went back the lane and had their supper. Class at night.
2nd S.W. & S. Fine and very warm. Ernest and Keith hoeing mangles. Shoot [?] in P.M. Baseball practice. Telephone meeting & Directors meeting. E went to T. meeting.
3 S.W. Very warm day. No rain. Mima and Marion went to Rustico. Sewing all day. Tired.
4 S. S.E. & E. 80 degrees. Very hot day. Marion in bed. Fridays work to do. Busy all day. Choir practice at night.
5 S.W. 84 degrees. Very hot. Ernest hauling lumber. Tea at English Church Rustico. Cecil and Elaine went with Mr. Bonnell. Ernest & I went up for clams. Gordon & Lydie brought Anita home and left Ruth & Reggie out. Vernie’s [?] birthday.
6 Sunday. S.W. Very hot again. Little shower in morning. Mr Herman S. Side preached in afternoon. Elaine & Mary Stuart here for supper. Anita & Ruthie & Thyra gone to shore. Strawberries for supper.
7 N.W. Washed in morning, baked bread. Hoeing mangles. Ernest went in to Andrew Macks for dory. Baseball game at night. Very smokey fires in northern New Brunswick.
8 Lovely day but very heavy smoke cloud in morning. Everything covered with ashes. Maud Montgomery came in afternoon. She looks fine. She is in for her Aunt Annie’s funeral. Mother, Cecil, & Elaine in after class. Pretty busy day.
9th Blowing hard. Very hot 85 degrees in afternoon. Took Maud down to Alex’s in AM. Nelson got the barn off of Pierce’s place moved up to the Geo. R. place. Washed in afternoon.
